The Story

Summer, rendered in full saturated color. I have a soft spot for H&M -- during several weeks in Sweden in the 90's, H&M was unknown in the US, had a flagship store in Stockholm, and I shopped there -- A LOT. That it has been a fast fashion label for many years since, does not mean that some of what they produce isn't better-made and worth passing on to a stylish new wearer. We discern here at Rue Trousseau, and this one passes the test. Here's why: It's pin-tucked beautifully on the empire bodice, has a flirty micro-pleated above-knee skirt (image 3 represents the flare of the skirt best), and it's lined in a breathable cotton. Straps are adjustable. It's a whole thing. In the studio here, this is one that gets a lot of favorable comments from visitors. I imagine it with a summer baby cardi or jean jacket, and wedge-heeled sandals. You may have different ideas. Note: The bodice is closer to a 6 than a 4. It's a little roomy in the bodice for the ribcage of a true 4. Side zip, slash pockets, fully lined. Priced to sell and pack in your weekender.
