About Rue Trousseau
Rue Trousseau takes its name from a quiet street in Paris's 11th arrondissement, where our founder lived — and where, as she observed the effortless chic of Parisiennes, the idea for this boutique quietly took shape.
It also borrows from a word that deserves reclaiming. A trousseau was once the carefully assembled travel wardrobe a bride brought into her new life: intentional, curated, built to last.
Rue Trousseau is a slow fashion boutique offering curated pre-owned and upcycled women's clothing, shoes, and accessories. Every piece is selected with an editor's eye and a conservationist's conscience — shaped by a Parisian sensibility that has always understood the difference between fashion and style. We believe in buying less, choosing better, and dressing with the quiet confidence of someone who knows exactly who she is. We believe that such a ritual of elegant curation — and the modern-day "trousseau" that it yields — should be available to everyone.

I've been shopping and studying vintage clothing since I was a teenager. What began as instinct became a genuine education in fabric, construction, and the difference between a garment built to last and one built to be discarded.
I lived in Paris, working as a consular intern for the U.S. Department of State on Rue Gabriel — one stretch in years spent moving through Paris and across Europe, studying how women there mix new pieces with secondhand, investment with budget, worn together with such style and originality while always being recognizable as Parisienne.
We should never seek to over-consume; every piece we own should be considered with care and worn (with love) to death. The women I studied in Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome, Stockholm, and beyond, had small closets but made sure every piece they had was right for them, and expressive of who they were.
I came home to the U.S. determined to build what I had learned into a brand. Every piece in this collection has been chosen with that same discernment — for its quality, its story, and the woman who might wear it next.
